I heard about this website on NPR last week. An illustrator and designer has spent almost an entire year illustrating wordless news. Every morning she scours the news looking for stories. Then she spends the morning designing a drawing depicting the article. It is amazing the power of a well drawn picture. It can evoke emotion, trigger memories, and tell a story without every saying a word. As a data analyst / policy wonk it illustrates just how important it is to tell the story. A well laid out graph, chart, or model can convey a significant message that might get lost in words.
